ANTIQUE ART NOUVEAU ENGLISH WALNUT OPEN ARMCHAIR c1890 in ALLAWAH, New South Wales for sale

This is a stunning antique English Art Nouveau open armchair. Definitely antique, we would date this chair to c.1890.
This gorgeous chair is beautifully proportioned. It has been tastefully upholstered with quality fabric, in cream with a hint of pale blue, and presents in beautiful antique condition. The fabric compliments the solid walnut timber construction beautifully. There is no need to do anything - take home and enjoy!
The chair is elegant in form and design, featuring sweeping arms for support, and the most wonderful Art Nouveau fretwork design to the back. It is generous in size, without being too bulky, being 97cm in height, and 58.5cm wide, across the arms. The seating area is 51.5cm deep.
There are no obvious defects to this lovely piece. This lovely armchair is solid, strong and with no sign of loosening in the joints. As with all quality antique and vintage furniture, however, age-appropriate wear and character marks should be expected.
This chair bears a label (now covered by the new upholstery) for Shoobreed & Sons, Tottenham.
A truly lovely piece of furniture. It will be greatly admired, as well as proving very functional.
